Andy had an incredible run in this years world championships. He progressed through the qualifying stages and beat Oly Bale in the last 32 by 8 frames to 4. In the last 16 he met 5th seed Lee Clough where after being unfortunate to be 4-0 down he then produced some of the best pool of his career to lead 6-5. It was to be a cruel final frame to decide the victor and after having a fluke Andy had his last ball turn out and catch the near knuckle and Clough deposited his remaining balls for an 8-7 win. Andy's consolation came with good friend Mick Hill winning the event.
